Dr. Melendez is originally from Puerto Rico and she completed her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University. She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at St. George’s University and her clinical rotations at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she worked at North Shore Animal League, one of North America’s largest no-kill shelters. She went on to obtain her certification in canine rehabilitation and became a certified canine rehabilitation therapist.
Dr. Melendez is passionate about rehabilitative medicine, shelter medicine, infectious disease control and preventative medicine. When not concentrating on physical rehabilitation of Southeast Veterinary Neurology patients, she enjoys growing orchids, interior design and spending time with her two, three and four-legged family members.
