Dr. Franziska Peress is a veterinary neurology resident at Southeast Veterinary Neurology. Highly experienced in veterinary medicine, she has been a part of Southeast Veterinary Neurology since 2015 and works closely with Dr. Michel Wong and Dr. Nicholas De Pompa in all aspects of neurology and neurosurgery.
Dr. Peress was born in Germany and received the majority of her training in Brno, Czech Republic, where she earned her masters in veterinary science and later her doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
She went on to complete her general practitioner certificate in small animal surgery from the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate studies in Munich and Frankfurt, Germany. She worked in a small animal private practice for several years in the Czech Republic and, in 2011, she moved to Israel where she worked as a general practitioner and shelter veterinarian for two years. She obtained her Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates, certified by the American Veterinary Medical Association, before moving to the United States.
When Dr. Peress moved to South Florida, she completed a surgical internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital and a one-year neurology internship at Southeast Veterinary Neurology before joining Southeast Veterinary Neurology as a veterinary neurology resident.
In her free time, Dr. Peress enjoys riding horses, playing the piano and going to yoga classes. She also loves taking care of her two dogs and one cat.
