Southeast Veterinary Neurology (SEVN) does not offer routine healthcare.  We are an extension of your family veterinarian, and work with them to optimally treat your pet’s neurological condition. Many of the diseases of the neurological system require expert knowledge and training beyond veterinary school.

After a consultation and detailed examination, our goal is to accurately localize your pet’s problem and recommend the best course of action for your pet.  Most initial consultations take about an hour.  During this thorough consultation, a medical history and full neurological examination will be performed.  A board-certified neurologist will discuss the recommended course of action to best determine the cause of your pet’s illness, as well as the best way to treat it.  Useful tests for patients with neurological disease include blood work, X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) analysis.  Tests may not always be necessary, and in that case our neurologist will discuss this with you. Our neurologists and staff stay in close contact with your family veterinarian, providing timely updates. At SEVN, we view ourselves as an extension of your family veterinarian, and believe that optimal results are best attainable when you, your family veterinarian and SEVN work as a team.
